Keeping track of Hakeem Flowers has been a pretty arduous task over the course of the past two months. The 2011 WR went from an unknown commodity and then we first introduced the rest of the world to him and it's been an unbelievable ride ever since.
Looking back a little over 2 months ago Flowers was looking to land his first scholarship offer. At 6'3 185 pounds he had all the physical tools as a wide receiver but he's also blessed with 4.4 speed. It didn't take long for him to snag that first elusive offer as a one day camp at Florida State proved to be his launching pad. From there as they say, the rest is history.
Almost 2 months later Flowers started his junior season off on the right foot by taking the season opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown almost an hour ago for the Generals as they are taking on the Blue Ridge Tigers. Add the fact that he now stands at 17 scholarship offers and it's easy to see why SCPrepNation.com projected him so highly in the 2011 class.
Currently Flowers' list of verbal offers is as follows: Florida State, Auburn, Maryland, Syracuse, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, North Carolina, Duke, North Carolina State, Michigan State, Arkansas, Memphis, Rutgers, Boston College, Baylor, and Louisville.
His latest offers came from Boston College and Arkansas.
