The Mauldin Mavericks in three weeks have announced to the rest of the state with their play that they are a team to be reckoned with when it comes to the ground game. Thursday night they defeated T.L. Hanna 44-14 pushing their record to 3-0.
2010 RB Andre Clarke teams with RB Tiquention Coleman to form another version of "Lightning & Thunder" similar to the duo that ran for Clemson University last year featuring James Davis and C.J. Spiller.
Clarke checks in at 5'11 215 pounds and is one of the state's strongest players as he was 2008 State Champion in the 205 pound weight division for the SC Strength Coaches Association. Considering his size he's also got impressive speed being clocked at 4.52 seconds in the 40 yard dash at the Shrine Bowl combine this offseason.
SCPrepNation.com will have an exclusive interview with Andre Clarke to talk about his season and recruiting. We'll also have video footage of Clarke taking on Week 1 opponent Hillcrest soon so stay tuned.
