The news came in Monday for 2011 J.L. Mann S Pat Martin. The junior standout himself was pretty startled himself when he first found out.

"Oh my goodness man! Alabama just invited me to the LSU game this weekend!" Martin informed us.

With it being such a high profile game Martin says if he can get travel arrangements made that he will definitely be in Tuscaloosa to check out the SEC showdown between the Crimson Tide and Tigers. Martin says he is very interested in both programs as they are both recruiting him currently.

Alabama is one of a few new schools to show their interest in the talented safety prospect. "Some of the new schools I've been hearing from along with Alabama are Oregon, Boise State, and Notre Dame."

That news wasn't the only good news as of late for Martin either he told us though. "I was invited to U.S. Army Combine in San Antonio. I am working on trying to get out there for that too."

Still early in the process Martin has plenty of schools' interest due to his potential, size, and playmaking abilities. One of Martin's vicious tackles earlier in the season broke the arm of an opposing player who ventured across the middle against Martin and his Patriots teammates. The J.L. Mann standout has also grown over the course of the season now checking in at 6'2 205 pounds.

Martin reports a 3.2 GPA currently.
