Palmetto State football fans meet Brandon Jenkins, a 6-3, 340 pound football prospect from out of Allendale-Fairfax High School. This young man without question possesses the size that college coaches desire in an OL/DL prospect. And a number of schools have been expressing interest in the big guy early on, including a couple of SEC programs.
"Auburn University and South Carolina have been sending me letters," said the massive lineman from out of the 2011 recruiting class. "I've been getting stuff from a few other schools as well, but those are the main two that I can think of right now."
At most of your smaller schools within the state, athletes normally have to play on both sides of the ball. And Jenkins had his share on both sides of the line last season. And although he's opened to playing on either side of the ball in college, he knows where enjoys playing mostly. "Defense," he said. "I like playing defense. I just like to hit people (laughing). But I'll play either one. It doesn't really matter."
Brandon doesn't have any immediate plans as of yet, but he has been thinking about where he'd like to camp this summer. And from the sound of things, one of his stops could be in Columbia. "I'll probably camp with the South Carolina," the big OL/DL told SCPrepNation.com. "And I'm really not sure where else I'll be going. But I want to make it out to as many camps as I can."
Stay tuned for more details on Jenkins in the near future, we will certainly keep you posted on the very latest.
