Steve LaPrad to lead Fort Dorchester

Long time and highly respected assistant to take over the reigns for the Patriot program.

Steve LaPrad Named To Take Over Patriot Program . . .

Steve LaPrad was named today to take over the football program at Fort Dorchester High School following the tragic death of Patriots coach John Bagwell.

Bagwell was killed in a single car accident on New Year's Eve at the age of 37. Bagwell had been the only head football coach since the school opened in 1993.

LaPrad will bring with him 26 years of coach experience to The Fort. LaPrad comes from Summerville High School where he coached wrestling and football for the Green Wave for 25 years. He coached at Chester High School for one year prior to moving to Summerville.

LaPrad amassed an incredible record of 114-10 for the Wave junior varsity football program while his wrestling team compiled a 274-10 record.

"The number one priority is the kids and the school," LaPrad said. "I want to make the transition as smooth as possible for all involved. I look forward to keeping the program that John had started going."

LaPrad will be starting his duties soon. More on coach LaPrad will follow in the near future!
