- 2011 OL prospect, Shaquille Counts, out of Irmo HS just recently landed his first scholarship offer. The 6-3, 275 pound athlete picked up his first offer from Western Carolina University. Counts has also been receiving a great deal of interest from the University of South Carolina, especially after displaying his skills at one of their 2010 camp sessions earlier this summer. The big man shared that he was informed by the coaching staff that he had the best feet out of all the offensive linemen that took part in the camp session he attended.
Wide receiver prospect, Jessie Pernell, out of North Augusta has scooped up his first (verbal) offer. But it wasn't for football. The 6-1, 170 pound athlete also happens to be a star on the hardwood for the Yellow Jackets. The two-sport standout shared that Georgia Southern University made a verbal offer to him while he was participating in one of their camp sessions this summer. Pernell has also been receiving interest from GSU in football, along with interest from Furman, Vanderbilt, Duke, and VMI.
James Island Charter High 2011 OL/DL prospect, C.J. Bray, currently has one football offer on the table from SEC member, Arkansas. However, the 6-8, 250 pound athlete has also been getting a great deal of attention on the hardwood. Bray recently scooped up a basketball offer from The Citadel. Expect for interest to pick up for this young man as he takes the gridiron and the hardwood this season.
It's been a long time coming for this former Baptist Hill High star. The wait is finally over for Former Bobcats wide receiver, Devin Gilliard. The 4.4 speedster out of Hollywood, SC, just recently signed a letter of intent, and will be taking his skill set on the road to the Magnolia State to play up for Mississippi Valley State this fall. Gilliard is expected to report on the 3rd of August. Expect for this young man to make quite an impact in the college ranks.
Orangeburg Wilkinson ATH, K'sone Williams, has picked up his first scholarship offer, courtesy of an in-state program. North Greenville University was the first program to extend an offer to the 6-0, 200 pound athlete out of Orangeburg, SC.
Irmo 2011 WR prospect, David Frazier, has picked up his first scholarship offer, and could very well be on the verge of adding to his list once more and more coaches get a whiff of what he is capable of doing on the gridiron. Frazier recently shared that Elon University was the first program to extend him an invitation to be a part of their program.
