In this week's Football Recruiting Roundup, get the scoop on the recruitment of Eden Prairie (Minn.) defensive lineman <b>Walker Ashley</b>, as well as other big football recruiting news.


Contrary to previous reports this week, Eden Prairie (Minn.) senior defensive lineman Walker Ashley has not committed to USC, according to his coach.

Eden Prairie athletic director and head football coach Mike Grant told SchoolSports.com on Friday that Ashley still plans to visit Ohio State and Minnesota in December.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder is rated the No. 16 defensive lineman and No. 87 overall recruit in the Class of 2005 by SchoolSports.com.

Ashley has led Eden Prairie to an 8-0 start this year, and the Eagles are ranked No. 7 in the Midwest in the SchoolSports.com Regional Football Rankings.

Texas Tech received a commitment last weekend from Lufkin (Texas) senior defensive lineman McKinner Dixon over Nebraska, Kansas State, Texas and Washington State. Dixon, who had 85 tackles and 22 tackles for loss last year, has led Lufkin to an 8-0 start this year. The Panthers are ranked No. 10 in the SchoolSports.com National Football Top 25. …

Miami Killian (Fla.) senior defensive back Demetrice Morley committed to Tennessee last weekend. He had originally committed to Florida, but de-committed from the Gators earlier this month. …

Jupiter (Fla.) senior defensive lineman Courtney Harris pledged to Miami last week over such schools as Ohio State, Florida, LSU, Georgia and Tennessee. He had 70 tackles and six sacks last season. …

Nebraska received a commitment from Creighton Prep (Neb.) senior tight end Zach Potter this week over Notre Dame, Kansas and Kansas State. The 6-foot-7, 235-pounder is rated the No. 14 tight end in the Class of 2005 by SchoolSports.com. …

St. Augustine (Calif.) senior quarterback Jason Forcier committed to Arizona State this week over UCLA, Oregon, Colorado and Wisconsin. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder transferred from Mater Dei (Calif.) before this season. He has completed 90-of-146 passes for 1,486 yards and 20 touchdowns through seven games this fall.
