Football Recruiting Roundup
Tri-County (Buena Vista, Ga.) senior offensive lineman Charles Jackson is rated the No. 5 offensive lineman and No. 32 overall recruit in the Class of 2005 by SchoolSports.com, and received offers from the likes of Auburn, Georgia, Ohio State and Georgia Tech.
However, the 6-foot-7, 270-pounder decided to commit to Illinois earlier this week. But if you're a Fighting Illini football fan, I wouldn't get too excited because Jackson has committed to play for Bruce Weber and his men's basketball program. Tri-County head basketball coach John McFather told SchoolSports.com today that Jackson would play only basketball in college.
"Basketball has always been his love," says McFather. "He just wanted to concentrate on one sport at the next level."
