Caracter was forced to sit out 15 days by the NJSIAA after transferring from Scotch Plains-Fanwood (Scotch Plains, N.J.). Caracter, who averaged 17.2 points and 12 rebounds per game as a sophomore, is rated the No. 2 overall recruit in the Class of 2006 by SchoolSports.com.

The Firebirds followed that up with a 61-44 win over Milford in which junior center Josh Chichester had 24 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.
