Class of '06: Preseason Football Top 100

Several players were worthy of No. 1 in the Class of 2006, including Huffman (Ala.) hulking offensive line talent Andre Smith and Garfield (Ohio) game-changing running back Chris Wells, but in the end it's defensive back Myron Rolle of The Hun School (N.J.) who takes home top billing.

With his combination of size (6-3, 215), speed, power and smarts, Myron Rolle has the potential to redefine the position of cornerback as we know it. When a recruit has the ability to not only make an instant impact, but also change how a position is viewed overall, it's tough to keep him out of the top spot. Such is the case with Rolle, the No. 1 player in the Class of 2006.

SchoolSports.com unveils its preseason ranking of the nation's Top 100 football recruits in the Class of 2006. To get even more information on the nation's top players, SchoolSports and the Sporting News have combined forces on the 2005 High School Football Yearbook. Currently on newsstands nationwide, this annual preview includes player rankings for the Class of 2006, 2007 and 2008, as well as national and regional team rankings and features on some of the top prep players in the country.
