Dickson County moves into tie for first

CLARKSVILLE — Three days after suffering its first District 10-AAA loss since the 2003-04 season, Dickson County bounced back last night. The Cougars (10-6, 5-1) defeated host Clarksville (13-3, 5-1) 44-39 to put themselves in a three-way tie with the Wildcats and Northeast for first place in the district standings.

The Cougars lost by five to Northeast on Tuesday night, their first regular-season loss in district action.

But Dickson County made key defensive plays at the end last night, and its defensive-minded coach left William Workman Gymnasium quite happy.

"What a difference a night makes," Dickson County Coach Kevin Tuck said. "The last two games before tonight we played poor defense. But tonight we played as well defensively as any team I ever coached."
