Pope John Paul's Ingle changes mind

Pope John Paul II tight end Alvin Ingle committed to Arkansas State because that's all he thought he had. Coach Rick Stockstill offered something more — a scholarship to MTSU.

A 6-foot-3, 230-pound tight end, Ingle backed out of his commitment to Arkansas State and gave a commitment to MTSU over the weekend. "Initially, they were one of my top choices during the season," Ingle said. "Then when (Andy McCollum) got fired they were off my list, but they came back around. "I pretty much thought they were even down the board when it came to academics and the chance to start, but I wanted to play close to home, and I really like the new head coach."
