All-Star nominees feature 10 locals

Ten Midstate basketball players have been recognized as nominees for the McDonald's All-American teams. The group is comprised of two boys, Brentwood Academy's Brandan Wright and Siegel's Keith Ramsey.

There are eight girls: Cheatham County's Abby Ramsey, Columbia's DeAndrea Bullock, Spring Hill's Keturah Brown, Hendersonville's Kali Holtfreter, Perry County's Kristal Edney, Hillsboro's Jessica Mooney, Shelbyville's Janay Armstrong and York's Brandi Brown.

Wright, a 6-foot-9 North Carolina signee, figures to be the shoo-in of the bunch. He would become the second player from Brentwood Academy to be a McDonald's All-American. David Harrison made the team in 2001.
