Jordan, Cobras take district title

There were plenty of talented performers for both teams in the District 12-AAA championship game between Hunters Lane and Whites Creek on Tuesday night. But one really made the difference and he was playing for the Cobras.

Behind a big effort from 6-6, 270-pound post Gershom Jordan, Whites Creek downed Hunters Lane 73-67 in the district title game at Glencliff.

Jordan came off the bench and scored 16 points, including eight in the fourth quarter to lead the Cobras (22-6) to the victory.

"I just realized they couldn't stop me," said Jordan, who will hit the gridiron next year as a defensive end for Tennessee State. "I'm bigger than them, so I just had to do what I had to do."
