Latest college football recruiting buzz

The University of Tennessee received a verbal commitment during the weekend with tight end Aaron Douglas from Maryville, (Tenn.). He is the son of former Volunteer offensive lineman David Douglas and his mother, Kara, was a starting forward for the University of Tennessee. Douglas is one of the state's top prospects for the class of 2008.

Running back/linebacker Josh Hawkins, from Loudon, Tenn., also gave his commitment to the University of Tennessee. He is the 10th verbal pledge for the class of 2007 and the fifth from east Tennessee to commit to the Volunteers.
