Division II moves to two classes

Division II prep sports will have a different look starting with next school year, after the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association Board of Control approved a measure earlier this week to split all Division II sports into two classifications except for bowling, wrestling and track and field.

Under the current format, football's three classes make it the only Division II sport divided, but under the new rules football would go back to two classes — a large division and a small division — as would the other sports.
