Preview: Catholic @ Anderson Co.

It wouldn't be difficult to put up big numbers on a team like Wartburg Central. So, Catholic RB/DB Harrison Smith did. His performance was much to the delight of several of the University of Tennessee's football coaches, who were on hand to watch the game.

When the dust settled, Smith had 240 all purpose yards and 3 TD's. The end result was the UT coaching staff being reminded why Harrison Smith is so highly regarded and a 59-0 Catholic win.

Catholic will take its 42.4 points scoring per game to the grazing grounds of the Anderson County Mavericks this week.

The Irish have only allowed only 31 points on the season thus far and that's not good news to an Anderson County team that has been uncharacteristically slow out of the gate this season.

The Mavericks only have one win in 5 games so far in '06. The one win coming against 4A light weight Clinton. They've also lost their first two region games of the year to Fulton and Kingston by a combined score of 62-15.

This looks like another prime opportunity for the Catholic offense to get more practice under its belt and for the Irish D to shut yet another opponent out in '06.

Look for Catholic to get up early and exercise the reserves.
