Preview: Fulton and Kingston

The Fulton Falcons (6-0, 3-0) traveled to Scott County and dismantled the Highlanders 56-0. The Falcon defense has only allowed 13 points over the last 3 weeks and has only allowed an average of 12.5 points per game all season.

Senior RB Dennis Rogan is closing in quickly on 700 yards on just a little less than 100 touches. He's averaging right at 7 yards per carry, so it's easy to see why some defenses want to key on him.

Hold that thought though. The QB tandem of starter and sophomore Jock Stinson and back up Jack Wagner have combined for 32 of 52 for 480 yards and 3 TD's thru the air through the mid point of the season.

Dennis squared- that's Dennis Freeney and Dennis Rogan- has combined for 215 yards on 15 receptions thru Week 5. Vic Smith chipped in another 135 yards on 5 receptions through the air.

That's just enough to keep opposing defenses from concentrating full time on Mr. Rogan's feet alone.

Looking Ahead

The Kingston Yellow Jackets have a running phenom of their own in senior RB Josh King. King ran for 175 yards and two TD's vs. Oliver Springs two weeks ago. The week before vs. Anderson County he had over 200 yards. King has nearly a dozen TD's on the year. He is potent on defense as well, with 5 sacks and just under 30 tackles.

QB/DB Justin Givens is also a weapon for the Yellow jackets….on defense. Through 5 games, Givens had only attempted 11 passes as Kingston's QB, but he had 3 interceptions thru the same time frame. That's two more picks than TD's on the year.

The Yellow jackets had 1020 yards on 160 attempts thru the first 5 games. It's a safe bet they'll try to play clock control offense vs. the Falcons.

The Falcon's will get Dennis Rogan involved every conceivable way, then throw in a dash or two of Dennis Freeney, Terrence Cobb and Vic smith, just to make sure the Jackets are paying attention.

The combination of those ingredients will be too much for Kingston's run oriented offense to keep up with.
