Tenn. OL Adds New Offer

Logan Massengale, 6'6, 270 pound, offensive tackle from Brentwood – Ravenwood High School (Tenn.) received his second offer yesterday. Find out who offered Massengale and the latest on the schools showing interest in this converted lineman.

Logan Massengale said, "Yesterday I was working out and I got a phone call from Coach Rector, our head coach, and he had talked to Miami Ohio and he said they were going to give me an offer." Massengale added, "I go up there sometime this week to talk to every coach, get a tour of the facilities, and get a feel of what Miami of Ohio is about."

When speaking of Miami Ohio he said, "Not really. I know that is where Ben Roethlisberger went. I know they sent about four or five players to the NFL this year."

Massengale commented, "As of spring football Tennessee picked it up a little bit and told me to come up to their camp. Virginia is contacting me heavily they want me to call them weekly to set up a relationship. Memphis called and left me a lengthy voice mail and said they liked my film. Vanderbilt is still up there, but they've kind of stopped."

Things are looking positive for Massengale with Tennessee. He explained, "Tennessee is the one that said to me if I come up there good things were going to happen. They said six to seven players were going to sign of linemen and I was one of the eight they invited to the linemen camp."

A Tennessee offer would be well received. Massengale reported, "I absolutely love Orange and White. I love Tennessee and I grew up following the Volunteers. I love the tradition, I love Phil Fulmer and his coaching staff, I like the religious views, and I like how they establish a relationship with you. They're not only there to coach you but they are there to be a mentor to you and help you in life and make you more of a man."

Another in state school after this athletic lineman is Vanderbilt. Massengale commented, "Vanderbilt is a great academic school. Their football program is on the rise. I like Bobby Johnson's view; he's there to make you better and to make you a man. He's got not really a laid back coaching style but he's not really a screamer. He is more of a motivator than a screamer."

Virginia has been showing a lot interest. Massengale explained, "The University of Virginia said they couldn't make any promises, but I'm definitely what they are looking for because I've got the frame to be able to put on a lot of weight and still be very mobile and strong. They love my footwork and they said I've got great technique."

Massengale said, "Western Kentucky told me back in spring that they really want to offer me, but they really want to work with me one on one before they make that commitment. Vanderbilt said the same thing that I would have to go to their camp in order for them to offer. An offer from them is looking really good."
