Tenn. RB Hopes To Gain Offers

Cortez Mosby, 5'10, 210 pound running back from Memphis-Whitehaven, (Tenn.) is gaining some interest from several schools. Find out who he likes and who is after him the most.

Cortez Mosby reported of offers, "I had one from Ole Miss, but since they got the new coach I can't say if it's for sure or not."

He listed the schools recruiting, "Right now Arkansas, Colorado, Middle Tennessee State, Tennessee, and Mississippi State." Of the schools recruiting him Mosby reported, "I've visited Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Auburn."

"I love the atmosphere. I really like the coaches. They have one of the best workout facilities I've seen so far." explained Mosby of Tennessee. He added, "I would say they have a medium interest because I don't have enough film to them yet. I think if I have a great season next year they could offer a scholarship. I plan on going to the senior camp in June."

Another in state school after Mosby is Middle Tennessee. He explained, "Their coach came to our school and he said he liked what he saw. He liked my footwork and my work ethic. He thinks I have a great future."

Mosby said of Auburn, "At first I wasn't too excited about how small the town was, but once you got there and meet the people there it's good. They had great hospitality. The workout facility and the stadium; the stadium was like really amazing. I've never been inside their stadium, but it had a great atmosphere."

Even though he is not certain of his offers he said, "I'd say my first school would be Tennessee. After that it would be Arkansas and I really love Southern Mississippi."

"Southern Miss is black and gold. I don't know what it is, but there is just something that catches my eye." commented Mosby.

Mosby reported his strengths, "I feel that my strength is my vision. I have great vision once I'm in the hole I can definitely follow my blocks to get to the outside." He added, "Last season I had four fumbles and this year I hope to keep it at zero. Also my speed right now I have a 4.59 and I hope to get to a 4.4"

With a team loaded with Scout.com prospects Gene Robinson and Derrick Webb Whitehaven looks to have a good 2008 season. Mosby commented, "This season I believe we have the talent to go all the way. We have a lot of young players who are stepping up. Senior wise we have a lot of seniors, but also we have juniors who are great answers to the team and I know they are going to bring it. We are going to be able to go all the way this year."
