"I've visited Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Auburn." commented Sloan of his trips this spring. He said of Tennessee, "I really enjoyed the family atmosphere they have up there. I went up there with Ben Bartholomew and Wesley Johnson for the junior day. They treat you like you are a part of the family already. I also liked the facilities they have because they are top notch."
He feels like there is a chance of an offer from Tennessee based on a good showing at camp this summer. Sloan said, "I feel like in order to get an offer I've got to go up to their senior camp and it's like a tryout for me. I feel like they are interested, but I have to show them I am able to play at the SEC level."
Another school after Sloan is Middle Tennessee. He explained, "I went to Middle Tennessee senior camp yesterday. I like Coach Stephens he's recruiting me. I like the tight end coach. I like Coach Stephen's intensity. I also like Middle Tennessee as a program on the rise under Coach Stockstill. My whole family is from Middle Tennessee State."
Vanderbilt is another school showing interest in Sloan. He commented, "I like Coach Cain, he's been recruiting coach. I like the relationships with the coaches and also it's a great academic program. They also play in the SEC which is a big plus and then it's close to home." He added, "They were heavy on me, but I've got to get some scores back on my ACT/SAT."
Staying in the SEC Sloan spoke of the interest he is receiving from Auburn. Sloan said, "I like Coach Nall and he came down to our school and wanted to make sure I was coming to their camp. I like the community atmosphere they have down because its like it all revolves around football. I was able to hang out with A.J. Green, he's from Brentwood Academy, and he told me about the coaches and the facilities. He really enjoyed it and I really liked what he had to say about it." He went on to say, "I think they are a lot like Tennessee and they want to see me in person."
"The Memphis coach called me the other day and said he was impressed with my film. They want me to come up there to camp." said Sloan of the interest he is receiving from Memphis.
As far as his on the field strengths he reported, "I feel like my quickness on the defensive side, I'm smart when I play, I have good technique. As a tight end my speed is what I'm going to work on, but I have really good hands."
After a perfect undefeated state championship season Sloan looks to repeat in 2008. Sloan said of his team, "I think we'll be really good. We lost a lot last year, but we have a lot of seniors returning. We're working really hard and we had a really good spring practice. I think we'll have a chance to be up there and win the state championship again, so I'm excited."
