Team Preview: Arlington

The Tigers finished last season with a playoff appearance and a 7-4 record. The Tigers hope to build on that and move further in the playoffs this season. Find out what Coach Wiley thinks it will take and who he thinks will help the tigers get there.

What are the strengths of your program for the 2008 season?

"The team from 2007 was the first year we were eligible to make the playoffs. We finished second in the region, and the underclassman got to experience the playoff atmosphere. That alone gives them a edge over last years seniors"

What are the areas you will need to improve?

"Overall we are not very experienced and are not returning very many starters. We have to get as many players quality reps in spring and in fall scrimmages to prepare them for the season."

What players will be expected to step up this season?

"Our senior class is not very big this year. Our juniors are going to play a vital role in our success."

Coach Wiley listed some of the players he expects to have good seasons as: Mike Williams, 6'1, 245 pound senior defensive tackle Justin Barnes, 5'7, 165 pound senior wide receiver Adam Sanders, 6'1, 200 pound junior linebacker Taylor Tornabene, 6', 180 pound junior running back Jay Wiley, 5'10, 170 pound junior wide receiver Zach Benard, 6'3, 240 pound junior offensive linemen Jonathan Wolfe, 5'11, 200 pound junior linebacker

What is your biggest game of the season?

"All of our games are huge because we play in an eight team region."

How big of a factor is your home crowd?

"Home crowds always play a big factor in high school football."
