Tenn. DL Prospect Getting Some Looks

Derek Barrett, 6'2, 290 pound defensive tackle from Murfreesboro – Oakland High School (Tenn.) spoke about the recruiting process. Find out what Barrett said about the schools that are after him and what he thinks about each school.

Derek Barrett listed the schools recruiting him the most as, "Louisville, Middle Tennessee, and Western Kentucky." Barrett feels Louisville and Western Kentucky are highly interested he commented, "They both want me to come back to their schools."

Barrett said of Louisville, "They've sent me a lot of written letters. I liked Louisville, it was real nice. I liked the facilities, the coaches, and the campus."

Another school after Barrett is Western Kentucky. He explained, "I like how they are upgrading everything, adding to their stadium and all of their facilities."

He attended a senior camp at Middle Tennessee last week. Barrett said, "It went well and they got in touch with my coach. I like Middle Tennessee because it's my hometown team."

Barrett described his strengths, "I have a physical nature out on the field, my speed and my strength." He added of his team, "I think we'll do well and probably make it into the playoffs or go further. We've got a good group, good coaches, and everybody is working hard. The last three freshmen classes have been winning teams, so I think we are stacked."
