Tenn. OL Has a Busy Summer Planned

Chase Phillips, 6-4, 280 pound offensive line prospect from Knoxville – South Doyle (Tenn.) is picking up a lot of interest this summer. Find out who is after this prospect and who he likes.

Phillips listed the schools he has visited or has plans to visit as, "Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Marshall and Duke."

He commented, "The first camp I went to was Middle Tennessee and then Marshall. I'm going to Tennessee tomorrow for a camp and then Vanderbilt for another camp."

Phillips explained of Tennessee, "They told me to come to camp and they talked highly of me. I'm going to go up there tomorrow and show them what I can do and see what happens."

One of the camps he has already been to is Middle Tennessee. Phillips said of his performance, "I think I did alright. I really like it down there. It's nice and has nice facilities and the coaches seem to be great. We did some offensive line drills and showed the coaches what you could do."

A trip to Marshall has also been eye opening this summer. Phillips commented, "I didn't really know much about Marshall except for the movie. Once you get down there it really sets in that it's a community and the place to be. The campus was amazing and it's just a great place to be."

Last but not least a school showing Phillips a lot of interest is Vanderbilt. He said, "I went to their camp last year and I loved it. Coach Caldwell the offensive line coach spoke highly of me and has watched the game film. I'm going to go and try to get an offer."

With so many camp appearances Phillips hopes he is close to landing his first offer soon. Phillips reported of a first offer, "I really think Tennessee and Vanderbilt are close."
