He explained of Ohio, "I know they play in a conference that is great for quarterbacks. I talked to their coach and he said they like to throw it and they want a quarterback who can throw it and run when he needs to. He said that's exactly the type of quarterback I am and it would be a good fit."
Gilchrist commented about the chance to play early at Ohio. He talked about what the coach from Ohio said, "They have four quarterbacks on scholarships and one is a red shirt freshman. He said it was a good time for a quarterback to come in and get three solid years of playing time."
This offer was Gilchrist fourth total offer. He reported, "Louisiana Tech was my first offer then Navy and Middle Tennessee offered a couple of weeks ago. Memphis is real interested and is probably the most interested school that hasn't offered yet. I'm still getting information from Arkansas State."
One school that has really picked up interest in Gilchrist is Louisville. He said, "Louisville called my coach and said I was on top of their board. I went to camp at Louisville and I had a good day there. Louisville is a school I like a lot."
Another team beginning to heat things up in the recruiting process is Vanderbilt. Gilchrist explained, "Vanderbilt told my offensive coordinator that there is a good chance that I can get an offer from them and they would be big because it's an SEC offer."
A teammate of Gilchrist has helped gain some attention for the signal caller from TCU. Gilchrist commented, "I talked to a TCU coach today. That is where my friend Sam Schutt, a receiver, signed with and he has been down there all summer. They are going to recruit me and hopefully get me out there on the campus to meet with them."
As far as his plans for the rest of the summer he said, "I've got a seven on seven camp with my team and Tee Martin is putting on a camp this Sunday in Atlanta."
