With a Name like Patton

With a name like Patton how could you not think about the military? Well for Josh Patton, 6-2, 210 pound linebacker from Murfreesboro-Blackman (Tenn.) it seems the service academies are thinking about him. Find out which schools are hoping to catch the eye of this Nashville area linebacker.

Josh Patton reported, "Air Force called me and said they were about to go on vacation, but they have already made the decision. They said I should be expecting an offer when they get back." As far as a trip to Colorado Springs Patton is unsure at this time due to time.

When asked if he would consider an official visit to Air Force if offered he responded, "If they offer me an official visit I would probably go. I could see myself going there because it's a good school."

This will make his first official division one offer, but expects there may be more. He said, "Princeton and Penn both said they want me. I just have to get my ACT up a little bit. I made a 24 the first time so I have to get a 27."

Another prestigious service academy that has shown Patton some interest is Navy. He explained, "I really think they are planning on offering. Things really went well when I went up there and I think they like me a lot. I am hoping for an offer sometime this fall."

Patton plans to march on to a few more stops before preseason football gets cranked up. He commented, "I leave on the 22nd to go to Miami Ohio. They actually offered another guy on our team Justin Bowers. I am going to Vanderbilt one day camp on the 20th also."
