Tenn. LB Could be an Unknown Gem

Find out more about Andrew Franklin, 6-2, 195 pound linebacker/safety from Memphis-Mitchell (Tenn.). He is a prospect that there is very little known about, but looks to be ready for a big senior season.

Andrew Franklin reported, "I have an offer from Alabama. I am also receiving interest from Louisville, Middle Tennessee, and Ole Miss." Franklin, who recorded 162 tackles as a junior, has been a relatively quiet prospect looking to pounce onto the scene in 2008.

He said of his lone offer from Alabama, "I like the stadium, the school and the coaching staff. They offered me this spring. I think the coaching staff is awesome to me. They are showing me a lot of love. They are recruiting me to play strong safety."

Another school showing a lot of interest at this point is Louisville. Franklin explained, "I like their team; they are a good and hard working team. They have good leadership and a good coaching staff too."

He has also received a lot of interest from Ole Miss. He commented, "They showed me around and the weight room and I got to meet with the coaching staff. I liked the weight room. I liked the inside dome too and it's neat."

One school that Franklin is hearing from but has not been able to learn much about is Middle Tennessee. He admitted, "I don't know much about them but they keep sending me letters so I can get to know them better."

When it comes to finding the right school he knows what he would like in a school. He explained, "I'm looking for good leadership, coaches to keep me on the right path, and good players."

With his ability to run and make plays like he did in 2007 look for Franklin to begin turning some heads in 2008. From his linebacker position he may show college coaches he has the goods to be an aggressive safety with the right size and speed at the next level.
