Game One: Battle Ground Academy at Briarcrest

This game could prove to be a preview of a possible playoff match up later on in the season. The Saints from Memphis-Briarcrest hope to keep the momentum rolling this Friday night. The two star quarterback Chris Campbell, 6-4, 195 pound Southern Miss commitment hopes to lead the Saints in a match up of top five quarterback prospects. The Wildcats from Franklin-Battle Ground Academy hope to have their quarterback, Jamal Ramsey, 6-1.5, 174 pound Miami Ohio commitment lead them to victory. The match up between these two versatile quarterbacks should prove to be entertaining for fans to watch.

Another key match up will be between four star offensive tackle and Georgia commitment Austin Long from Memphis-Briarcrest against Jamar Neal, 6-1, 245 pound defensive end from Franklin-Battle Ground Academy. Neal has had a good season and is able to provide a good pass rush off the edge. It will be vital for Long to use his pass protecting skills to keep Neal out of the backfield.

PrepTennessee.com Prediction:

Fans will be in for a treat as two of the top quarterback prospects hope to show why they are already committed to play at the next level. Campbell will look to make Battle Ground Academy pay early with his team's short passing game, but don't look for him to outshine Ramsey, who provides excitement with his arm and legs.

Game Two: Hardin County at Brighton

This should provide to be a big time game for both teams as they both enter the game undefeated. This regional game will showcase the talents of one of the top quarterbacks in the state, Will Gilchrist. He made a commitment late this summer to Memphis and has been showing teams across the state why so many teams after him early in the season. Gilchrist provides that ability to guide an offense, but also an opportunity to make big plays to open this game up.

PrepTennessee.com Prediction:

In a big game, big atmosphere, and leadership in the region up for grabs it is always tough to pick out a winner. The Brighton (Tenn.) Cardinals have had a ton of success so far, but should face a stiff challenge this Friday. For Savvanah-Hardin County and Gilchrist this game will be the biggest challenge in the early season. Look for Gilchrist to make some of those big plays needed down the stretch.

Game Three: William Blount at Ooltewah

The Owls from Ooltewah (Tenn.) look to keep things going in the right direction and improve to 3-0 over the Maryville-William Blount (Tenn.) Governors. The Owls led by class of 2010 prospect Jacques Smith, 6-3, 235 pound defensive end are rolling towards a region 2-5A championship. Fans also need to watch the athletic Sammy Seamster for Ooltewah (Tenn.).

On the other side the Governors from Maryville-William Blount hope to land their first win on the road in this region match up. There is a sense of urgency in this game for both teams as it is a region game and has playoff implications. The Governors will look for things to be turned around and that feeling of getting things turned around will begin with Cole Lail, 6-1, 220 pound linebacker.

PrepTennessee.com Prediction:

Event though it is early, the season Coach Benny Monroe and his Owls seem to be as good as anyone in the state. The Governors on the other hand are taking steps backward and hope to get back on track. If you are expecting the governors to start that comeback do not expect this to be the first game.
