Will Jackson, 6-4, 280 pound offensive guard from Knoxville-Farragut reported of his weekend visit, "The visit to Georgia Tech was great." He added, "I got down there Friday night after my game. I got up early the next day and did a tour. I saw the new weight room and it is really nice."
The weekend shed a little more light on Jackson's commitment and expectations of the program. He explained, "I got to talk to the coaches before the game. I talked to some of the prospects down there and tried to persuade them to come on down. After the game I went into the locker room and Coach Johnson spoke to the team."
One of the missions Jackson has zeroed in on is helping the recruiting class grow. He said of speaking with Knoxville-Catholic (Tenn.) three star tight end Daniel Hood, "I spent a little time with him and talked to him about where he was in the recruiting process." He went on to say of Hood's visit, "I think he had a pretty good time."
Jackson is a big time prospect for the Yellow Jackets and remains solid. He reported, "Stanford has been calling and I haven't heard from them recently. I'm solid to Georgia Tech. I am 100% committed to Georgia Tech"
The 2008 season has started off in the right direction for Jackson and his Knoxville-Farragut team. Jackson explained, "We are 5-0 right now and ranked number one in the state. We played Athens-McMinn County last week and probably one of the worst games of the season but we still had close to 500 yards offense."
Yellow Jacket fans can expect Jackson to provide them with a solid commitment. He plans to make his way down to Atlanta at least one more time in order to take in the game day atmosphere, but also to help with the recruiting effort. He commented, "I am definitely going back down there. I am going to try to get there for the Duke game, but I am definitely getting their for the Florida State game."
