Game One: Nashville-Montgomery Bell Academy vs. Nashville-Ensworth
One of the top ranked teams loaded with several solid players is the Big Red from Nashville-Montgomery Bell Academy. This week the Big Red faces one of the biggest challenges on their schedule as they travel to Nashville-Ensworth to take on the Tigers. Fans can expect to see some solid offense from the Tigers led by quarterback Tavarres Jefferson and junior tailback Orleans Opokwu-Darkwa. The Tigers have seen solid efforts from Jefferson and Opokwu-Darkwa so far in the 2008 season with both backs combining for 370 yards last week in their 37-36 double overtime win against Chattanooga-McCallie. This game should be a good one to watch as each team is fighting for the top position of Division Two and playoff seeding.
Game Two: Franklin (Tenn.) vs. Brentwood (Tenn.)
Many think one of the top teams in 5A is the Rebels from Franklin (Tenn.). For several fans the combination of senior Graham Nichols at quarterback with running backs Alex Ford and Keylo Lee. This Friday night the Rebels will take on county rival Brentwood (Tenn.) Bruins led defensively by defensive end Cole Tischer. Fans can expect a real playoff like atmosphere as these two teams collide to see who will finish in the top of their region.
Game Three: Savannah-Hardin County vs. Jackson-Northside
Another fierce region game out in the western part of the state will be in Jackson (Tenn.) this weekend. Take some time to travel to Jackson and watch athletic quarterback and Memphis commitment Will Gilchrist show why he is one of the most heavily recruited quarterbacks in the state. The Tigers from Savannah-Hardin County (Tenn.) are looking to improve to 5-1 on the season this Friday night. Gilchrist was 18 of 23 with 274 yards passing plus three touchdowns. He can also beat you with his feet after 11 carries for 105 yards for two touchdowns.
