BGA at Brentwood Academy


This battle between the Wildcats from Franklin-Battle Ground Academy (Tenn.) and the Eagles from Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy may be one of the best match ups in the state. The Eagles who are loaded across the defensive line with talented linemen like Barry Dabney, 6-2, 280 pounds, three star defensive end Thad McHaney, 6-4, 240 pounds and junior defensive tackle Ishmael Lewis, 6-2, 243 pounds. On the offensive side of the ball the Eagles will look to stay on the ground led by junior tailback Joshua Tate, 5-11, 178 pounds and sophomore Victor Caro. Upfront on the offensive line the Eagles will be led by Notre Dame commitment Alex Bullard, 6-4, 290 offensive tackle.

The Wildcats from Franklin-Battle Ground Academy have been turning some heads this season with big time play from quarterback and Miami (OH) commitment Jamal Ramsey, 6-1.5, 174 pounds. Ramsey, who has thrown for 1186 yards and 13 touchdowns, looks to lead his Wildcats to their eighth consecutive win of the season. On the defensive side of the football the Wildcats will have to have a big game from defensive end Jamar Neal, 6-1, 245 pounds. Neal has quick feet and good pad leverage that allows him to make big time plays.

Knox West at Clinton


The Rebels from Knoxville-West (Tenn.) are hoping to get a big win tonight as they travel to Clinton (Tenn.) to take on the Dragons. The Rebels are sitting at 3-1 in the region and hoping a win over Clinton, also 3-1 in the region, will help separate them into second place. Led by Marquis Simmons in the ground game the Rebels look to pull off a big time win tonight.

The Dragons from Clinton (Tenn.) hope to keep things going tonight. Led by junior quarterback Darian Stone, who has thrown for 1164 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2008 while rushing for 479 yards and five touchdowns, the Dragons hope to pull off the win. Stone is one of top prospects in the state and will be a big name to watch for as a top prospect in the class of 2010.

Whitehaven at Kirby


In 2008, Coach Rodney Saulsberry's Memphis-Whitehaven squad has relied on defense to win. Led by three star safety Gene Robinson, 5-10, 180 pounds and three star linebacker Derrick Webb, 6-0, 225 pounds the Tigers look to keep winning. The win will help solidify the Tigers hold on first place in the region as they look forward to their week nine match up against Germantown (Tenn.) The offense is beginning to click led by junior quarterback Fred Flenorl and senior running back Cortez Mosby, 5-10, 210 pounds.

The Cougars from Memphis-Kirby hope to get things back on track after a two game losing streak. Tonight will be a tough match up for the cougars as they take on region favorite Memphis-Whitehaven. The Cougars will need to have a big time game from quarterback Dion Woods, who has already thrown for over 1301 yards.
