Fearless Friday Predictions

Find out which team may get tricked and which team may get treated in tonight's big match ups across the state. The final week of the regular season should provide some great region rivalry games.

Powell at Clinton

In a region showcased by the Rebels of Maryville (Tenn.) most teams are used to competing for the second spot in the region. This week the Panthers from Knoxville-Powell and the Dragons from Clinton (Tenn.) will square off for second place and a spot to host in the playoffs. For the Panthers they will rely on senior quarterback Kier Houston to make some big plays like he has all season. Houston has compiled almost 2300 yards this season with 629 yards on the ground and 1629 yards through the air. The Dragons have had a stellar performance from their quarterback junior Darian Stone. On the season Stone has put up 1555 yards in the air and 721 yards on the ground.

Blackman at Oakland

This is a match up between two county rivals that would mean undefeated season for one team and playoff appearance for the other team. The Blaze from Murfreesboro-Blackman (Tenn.) have struggled a little this season with a 5-4 record. A win this Friday over the number one team in the region will get them into the playoffs and a loss will be the end of their season. The Blaze will look for a big performance from senior running back Justin Bowers, a Miami (OH) commitment. Last week Bowers rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns in a win against Lebanon (Tenn.). The Patriots from Murfreesboro-Oakland carry in their strong 8-1 record and defense of the region title which they have earned out right. Look for defensive tackle Derek Barrett to lead the defense as he tries to make big plays to contain Bowers.
