Nathan Jolley, 6-2, 200 pounds said of his latest recruiting update, "I went to Louisiana Tech recently and they picked up a commitment from a quarterback." He went on to say, "I am still talking to Middle Tennessee and Southern Illinois a lot. I have also been talking to Oklahoma State."
For Jolley the 2008 season was productive as he was able to show off his skills with both his feet and his arm. He hopes to continue to impress coaches from programs in the post season. Jolley reported, "I have been selected to play in the Liberty Bowl All Star game." He hopes a big performance in the game will help him stand out even more than his successful senior season. He explained, "I think having a good showing at this all star game will help a lot. There are several coaches coming in to watch the practices and I know we will have a workout on Monday and Wednesday."
One school that Jolley still has an interest in learning more about is Middle Tennessee. He recently visited the Blue Raiders and came away impressed. Jolley commented, "I most recently visited Middle Tennessee. I like it up there. They asked for more of my highlight film so I am going to send it to them."
For many teams across the state piling up seven wins would be a great season and earn you a playoff berth, but not for Jolley and his team. Playing in a tough region the Mustangs from Germantown-Houston were not able to lock up a spot in the playoffs despite their 7-3 record. Jolley said, "We went through the season 7-3 and we just missed the playoffs. It was tough, but we still had a good season. It's a shame when a 7-3 team can't make it in the playoffs."
