All State Teams Named

The Tennessee Football Coaches Association has named their all state teams. will look at some of those top prospects that can be found in the database.

Many of the top prospects from the database made the top team. The All State team included players like Marlon Brown, 6-5, 205 pounds from Memphis-Harding Academy, the number one prospect in the state, but there were other top prospects that made the team that helped solidify their status in the database. Four star players Marsalis Teague, 5-10, 175 pounds from Paris-Henry County and Eric Gordon, 5-11, 186 pounds from Nashville-Hillsboro also made the team for class 4A.

Class 1A and 2A has some great players on each respective team including South Pittburg running back David Jones, who recently committed to Middle Tennessee. Another Middle Tennessee commitment that made the class 2A all state team is defensive back Benjamin Cunningham from Nashville-Goodpasture. Joining these two future Blue Raiders were prospects James King and Preston Gilbreath.

In class 3A there should not be shock that Nashville-David Lipscomb wide receiver Zach Rogers made the list. Rogers is one of the fastest prospects in the state and should add great skills to the Tennessee wide receiver group. Another top prospect in class 3A is Knoxville-Catholic tight end Daniel Hood. He has had a very busy year with offers and recruiting, but seems to be set on making his decision closer to signing day.

Class 4A was loaded with top talent this season. Aside from the two top prospect ins class 4A, Marsalis Teague and Eric Gordon, there were several top athletes that made a name for themselves. Included on the team were prospects like quarterback Kier Houston from Knoxville-Powell, quarterback Will Gilchrist from Savannah-Hardin County, offensive center Kevin Revis from Evensville-Rhea County, and defensive end Justin Smith from Maryville (Tenn.).

The biggest classification in Tennessee public schools is class 5A and it is loaded with talent.
