Houston - It was about as dominating a performance as you’ll ever see Saturday night at Thorne Stadium as Aldine Eisenhower (3-3, 2-0) rolled past Aldine MacArthur (0-5, 0-1) 54-0. ”The defense played outstanding, total team effort the kids were on their game,” said Eisenhower HC Kerry Bamburg after the win. The Ike offense wasn’t always sharp but they got enough big plays to get the job done with 376 yards, most on the ground with four backs getting at least 51 yards rushing. The lone bright spot for MacArthur was TCU commit DE Isaiah Chambers who had two sacks and three tackles for loss.
Ike led 29-0 at the half as QB Faraji Robinson tallied a 57 yard touchdown run after a safety to give Ike an early 9-0 lead. After a MacArthur punt, the Eagles made it 16-0 in the first quarter as Ja’Juan Allen scored on a two yard run to make it 16-0. Juwan Williams extended the lead to 23-0 in the second quarter on a 63 yard touchdown run and Ike added two field goals from Charalambos Pashas to have a commanding 29-0 halftime lead.
Most of the second half was effectively garbage time as teams rotated players in liberally, one bright spot for Ike was Texas State commit RB Robert Brown who had missed significant time with an ankle injury broke off a 53 yard touchdown run early in the third quarter to make it 36-0. Eisenhower added two additional safeties and two additional touchdowns tacked on the for the final margin of 54-0.
Eisenhower will take the week off next week before jumping back into district play on October 17 on the road at Houston Northbrook.
