TXHSFB Interview with Plano East Head Coach Joey McCullough

Plano East and had coach Joey McCullough look to build off a 2015 season that saw it go 7-4 in one of the toughest districts in the entire country. What have been some of the keys to success for the program's turnaround? What does it have to do to be even better in 2016?

After a 1-9 2014 season Plano East has been one of the best turnaround stories in the DFW under head coach Joey McCullough.

It went 7-4 in 2015 and will now return a number of key starters such as LB Anthony Hines, OT Casey Verhulst, QB Miklo Smalls and Dt Deiontae Watts.  It will need all of the talent on the field that it ca get because it will be competing against 6-6A foes like Allen, Plano West and Denton Guyer.

The turnaround has placed more expectations on the team heading into the year and it should be in the mix for the conference crown. It goes on the road to face off against Guyer, but gets to play host to Allen in what should be a key game in the district title race.
