A Look at Some of the Key Performances in Week Eight of TXHSFB

Katy beat Katy Morton Ranch 68-9 as sophomore running back Deondrick Glass rushed for 149 yards with five touchdowns on eight carries.


Allen defeated Denton Guyer 42-7 behind senior quarterback Mitch Jonke (Brown commit) who went was 17 for 24 passing for 255 yards with one touchdown toss and rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. 

Coppell defeated Dallas W.T. White 40-14 with junior quarterback Brady McBride going 10 for 18 passing for 162 yards with one touchdown and rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries. 

In Cedar Hill’s 72-10 win over Irving Nimitz 72-10 senior quarterback Avery Davis (Notre Dame) went 16 for 20 passing for 379 yards with six touchdown passes. Senior receiver Charleston Rambo (Oklahoma commit) had four catches for 119 yards with one touchdown.

Duncanville’s senior quarterback Jaylin Nelson (Texas State) went 13 for 22 passing for 136 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries as the Panthers defeated South Grand Prairie 30-9.

Sachse’s junior quarterback Jalen Mayden went 12 for 21 passing with 190 yards with a touchdown pass to Nate Shelton, who caught five passes for 120 yards, in the Mustangs’ 33-7 win over North Garland.

Junior quarterback Prince Mavula went 24-39 passing for 321 yards with two touchdowns as Justin Northwest beat Saginaw Boswell 31-21.

Sophomore Kris Morris rushed for 143 yards with three touchdowns on 10 carries as Pasadena Dobie beat Pasadena Rayburn 41-7.

Spring Westfield shut out Aldine Nimitz 34-0. Houston commit Daniel Young rushed for 219 yards with one touchdown on six carries in Spring Westfield’s 34-0 shutout over Aldine Nimitz.

Fort Bend Kempner defeated Fort Bend Hightower in overtime, 50-44. Billy Reagins rushed for 180 yards with two touchdowns on 27 carries in Fort Bend Kempner’s 50-44 overtime win over Fort Bend Hightower. 

Mansfield’s senior running back Kennedy Brooks (Oklahoma commit) rushed for 299 yards with three touchdowns on 34 carries as the Tigers’ defeated Arlington Lamar 35-21.

Euless Trinity’s junior running back Courage Keihn ran for 161 yards and scored two touchdowns on 18 carries in the Trojans’ 56-7 win over L.D. Bell.

Hebron defeated Flower Mound 48-38 with junior quarterback Clayton Tune going 14 for 21 passing for 258 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for 115 yards with a touchdown on 12 carries. 

Senior quarterback Mason Holmes went 10 for 23 passing for 246 yards with two touchdowns in Southlake Carroll’s 33-21 win over Flower Mound Marcus.

Rowlett beat South Garland 49-20 as Kobe Morrow ran for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. 

Tyler John Tyler’s quarterback Bryson Smith (Houston commit) went 10 for 16 passing for 159 yards with one touchdown pass and rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries as the Lions shut out Rockwall-Heath 48-0.

Mesquite defeated Tyler Lee 57-56 behind running back Chance Fisher who rushed for 210 yards with four touchdowns on 21 carries and had six pass receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore LaDarius Wickmare ran for 261 yards and five touchdowns on 19 carries for the Red Raiders in the loss.

Lufkin’s Kordell Rodgers (Texas State) went 24 for 42 passing for 383 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in a losing cause as Beaumont West Brook defeated the Panthers 70-63.

San Angelo Central’s Daven Manning rushed for 57 yards with four touchdowns on eight carries and had two pass receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Bobcat’s 63-21 win over Wolfforth Frenship.

Junior quarterback Tanner Mordecai went 16 for 25 passing for 408 yards with five touchdowns and rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown in Waco Midway’s 49-42 overtime win over Belton.

Sophomore Calvin Hill rushed for 265 yards with two touchdowns on 20 carries as Baytown Sterling defeated Houston C.E. King 34-7.

Junior quarterback Amryn Jeffrey went 25 for 37 passing for 437 yards with three touchdowns as Fort Bend Travis defeated Fort Bend Austin 43-42. Sophomore receiver Arjei Henderson caught 10 passes for 191 yards with three touchdowns.

Smithson Valley’s Josh Adkins went 14 for 20 passing with 231 yards and five touchdown tosses as the Rangers dominated Schertz Clemens 45-21.

San Antonio O’Connor defeated San Antonio Stevens 41-7 as quarterback Roel Sanchez had 223 yards passing with three touchdown passes and rushed for 163 yards with two touchdowns.

Converse Judson quarterback Julon Williams completed 13 of 22 passes for 253 yards with five touchdowns as the Rockets defeated San Antonio Wagner in the Hammer Bowl 51-16.

Tyquez Hampton (Utah commit) caught eight passes for 169 yards with four touchdowns and rushed for 72 yards with two touchdowns in the Aztec’s 69-14 win over El Paso Franklin.


Denton Ryan’s junior quarterback Spencer Sanders (Oklahoma State commit) finished 15 for 19 passing for 256 yards with five touchdowns as the Raiders’ defeated Sherman 57-14.


Junior quarterback Kason Martin went 22 for 30 passing for 320 yards with five touchdowns as Manvel defeated Fort Bend Elkins 50-14.

Mansfield Legacy’s Kameron Session rushed for 280 yards with a touchdown on 29 carries as the Broncos defeated Waxahachie 45-33.

Quarterback Tre'Von Bradley went 14 for 25 passing for 187 yards and rushed for 169 yards with four touchdowns on 31 carries as Arlington Seguin defeated Cleburne 37-30.

Senior running back Eno Benjamin (Iowa commit) rushed for 238 yards with three touchdowns on 36 carries as Wylie East defeated Lucas Lovejoy 35-21.

Senior quarterback Jason Shelley (Utah commit) went 29 for 40 passing for 378 yards with one touchdown and rushed for 157 yards with three touchdowns on 30 carries as Frisco Lone Star beat Frisco Wakeland 38-35. For the Wolverines in the loss quarterback Cooper Chandler went 23 for 39 passing for 419 yards with five touchdowns.

Frisco’s junior quarterback Amare Jones went 14 for 19 passing for 202 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for 204 yards on 31 carries with one touchdown in the Racoons’ 38-25 win over Frisco Heritage 38-25. 

Frisco Independence’s Dominic Williams (Kansas commit) rushed for 187 yards with two touchdowns on 20 carries and had five receptions for 54 yards in the 34-17 win over Frisco Liberty.

Mansfield Lake Ridge defeated Midlothian 66-45 with junior quarterback Jason Bean going 15 for 22 passing for 370 yards and three touchdowns.

Boerne Champion’s junior quarterback Davis Brin went 15 for 26 passing for 276 yards with a touchdown and rushed for eight yards with two touchdowns on five carries as the Chargers beat Dripping Springs 45-40.

In Richmond Foster’s 67-41 win over Rosenberg Terry senior receiver CeeDee Lamb (Oklahoma commit) caught 11 passes for 288 yards with five touchdowns.

Junior running back Ralph Kallie rushed for 289 yards with two touchdowns on 31 carries in Brenham’s 43-35 win over Tomball.


Carrollton Ranchview defeated Dallas Carter 31-23 with junior running back SaRodorick Thompson rushing for 258 yards on 22 carries and Fresno State commit Javon McInnis rushing for 128 yards with four touchdowns on 28 carries. 

Junior running back Keaontay Ingram ran for 169 yards with three touchdowns on 14 carries as Carthage beat Center 42-16.

Giddings defeated Caldwell 42-14 as senior athlete Chabastin Taylor ran for 164 yards with four touchdowns on 13 carries. 

Quarterback Johnny Zamora completed 23 of 31 passes for 343 yards with five touchdowns as Pleasanton defeated Robstown 33-13. Dalton Hobbs had 11 catches for 181 yards with three touchdowns in the win.


Bremond’s Roshauud Paul (Texas A&M commit) returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown,  threw three touchdowns passes and rushed for 175 yards with three scores on four carries as the Tigers defeated Frost 56-22.


Tenaha junior quarterback C.J. Horn completed 20 of 26 passes for 508 yards with four touchdowns and scored a 6 yard touchdown on his on rush of the night in the Tigers’ 74-0 rout of Wortham.
