Week 11 TXHSFB Highlights

Some of the top performers from around the state during the final week of the TXHSFB regular season.

CLASS 6A

DeSoto’s Shawn Robinson (TCU) went 14 of 27 passing for 201 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in the Eagles’ close 37-31 win over held off South Grand Prairie.

Cedar Hill’s 45-7 win over Irving High was a team effort with junior Cameron Fleming rushing for 66 yards with Charleston Rambo (Oklahoma) having eight pass receptions for 138 yards with two touchdowns.

Southlake Carroll defeated Lewisville Hebron 52-34 with running back Audricke Gaines rushing for 234 yards with four touchdowns on 28 carries.

In the crosstown rivalry Plano East slipped past Plano 40-39 with senior quarterback Miklo Smalls (Rice) going 21 of 31 passing for 272 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 124 yards with two touchdowns on 20 carries. 

Denton Guyer defeated Plano West 30-10 with sophomore Noah Cain rushing for 137 yards with three touchdowns on 20 carries. 

Allen shut out Wylie 49-0 with senior quarterback Mitch Jonke (Brown) going 14 of 20 passing for 162 yards with four touchdowns. 

McKinney Boyd’s senior running back Kaeden Markham rushed for 244 yards on 35 carries with five touchdowns in a 38-14 win over the McKinney Lions.

W.T. White’s junior wide receiver had five pass receptions for 140 yards with two touchdowns in a 54-35 win over Lake Highlands. 

Mesquite Horn defeated Rockwall-Heath 47-42 behind senior quarterback Chris Robison (Oklahoma) who went 18 of 25 passing for 316 yards with three touchdowns and senior receiver Reggie Roberson (Kansas) had nine pass receptions for 157 yards with a touchdown in the Jags’ win.

Rockwall’s Sam Crawford had seven pass receptions for 138 yards with four touchdowns as Rodney Webb’s Yellowjackets defeated North Mesquite 72-49.

Tyler John Tyler’s senior quarterback Bryson Smith (Houston) went 9 of 15 passing for 157 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 206 yards with three touchdowns on 15 carries as the Lions defeated crosstown rival Tyler Lee 49-29.

Arlington Martin’s junior running back Juma Otoviano rushed for 247 yards with two touchdowns on 29 carries as Martin beat Arlington Lamar 41-33 to clinch a playoff spot. 

Arlington Bowie defeated Fort Worth Paschal 51-7 with Braydon Johnson catching four passes for 153 yards with two touchdowns.

Waco Midway’s junior quarterback Tanner Mordecai went 16 of 25 passing for 144 yards and he rushed for 213 yards with five touchdowns on 15 carries as the Panthers defeated Killeen Ellison 55-42. In the loss for Ellison, Carl Robinson went 34 of 61 passing for 435 yards with four touchdowns.

Belton defeated Copperas Cove 56-21 with quarterback Peyton Mansell (Iowa) going 10 of 13 passing for 272 yards with five touchdowns.

Georgetown defeated Pflugerville Connally 37-28 with quarterback Beau Corrales (Iowa) had 11 pass receptions for 167 yards with two touchdowns.

San Angelo Central beat Amarillo Tascosa 49-15 as Daven Manning rushed for 142 yards with two touchdowns on 17 carries. Adam West (Harvard) had five pass receptions for 120 yards with three touchdowns for the Bobcats in the win.

Abilene’s Abram Smith (Tulsa) rushed for 221 yards with a touchdown on 20 carries as the Eagles defeated Keller Timber Creek 56-31.

Joshuah Bledsoe (Missouri) rushed for six yards with a touchdown on two carries and returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown as Spring Dekaney defeated Aldine MacArthur 47-8.

Houston Lamar defeated Houston Westbury 51-7 as senior quarterback Owen Holt (Harvard) went 8 of 16 passing for 153 yards with three touchdowns and junior Ta'Zhawn Henry rushed for 155 yards with two touchdowns on five carries in the win. 

Fort Bend Ridge Point junior quarterback Aaron Allen went 10 of 16 passing for 190 yards with three touchdowns as Ridge Point defeated Fort Bend Hightower 45-7.

Junior quarterback Amryn Jeffrey went 22 of 40 passing for 301 yards with four touchdowns as Fort Bend Travis defeated Fort Bend Kempner 46-39 and sophomore receiver Arjei Henderson had 10 pass receptions for 124 yards with two touchdowns in the win.

Cy Ranch defeated Cy Woods 52-13 with receiver R.J. Sneed having seven pass receptions for 184 yards with three touchdowns. 

North Shore defeated Humble Summer Creek 50-22 with quarterback Bryant Badie (ULM) went 11 of 19 passing for 323 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for 40 yards with a touchdown on 10 carries.

Cy Ridge defeated Cy Springs 62-45 as senior running back Trelon Smith (Arizona State) rushed for 241 yards with three touchdowns on 23 carries. In the loss, Cy Springs junior quarterback Xayvion West went 20 of 25 passing for 413 yards with four touchdowns and junior receiver Jahmarae Sheread had 10 pass receptions for 191 yards with two touchdowns. 

Lake Travis senior quarterback Charlie Brewer (SMU) went 24 of 25 passing for 242 yards with five touchdowns and he rushed for 33 yards with a touchdown on seven carries as the Cavaliers shut out Austin Vandegrift 55-0.

San Antonio MacArthur defeated San Antonio Lee 70-35 behind junior quarterback Tyler Vitt going 10 of 15 passing for 193 yards with three touchdowns and he rushed for 25 yards and a touchdown on three carries.

Victoria East defeated Rosenberg Terry 50-34 as quarterback Bailey Zappe went 26 of 39 passing for 492 yards with five touchdowns and rushed for six yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in the win.

CLASS 5A

Denton Ryan defeated Wichita Falls Rider 38-14 as junior quarterback Oklahoma State commit Spencer Sanders (Oklahoma State) went 12 of 19 passing for 296 yards with three touchdowns while rushing for 62 yards with a touchdown on five carries. Junior receiver Chritauskie Dove had seven pass receptions for 131 yards with two touchdowns in the Raiders’ win.

Fort Worth South Hills defeated Fort Worth Wyatt 34-7 behind Kyran Jackson, who rushed for 101 yards with a touchdown on 15 carries, and Tylan Wallace, (Oklahoma State) who had two pass receptions for 58 yards with a touchdown.

McKinney North’s junior Lamar Lucas rushed for 311 yards with four touchdowns on 30 carries as the Bulldogs defeated Little Elm in overtime, 45-44.

Dillon Davis went 18 of 28 passing for 378 yards with three touchdowns and freshman running back Jase McClellan rushed for 108 yards with two touchdowns on 13 carries as Aledo beat Saginaw Boswell 49-24.

Frisco Heritage’s junior quarterback Amare Jones went 15-20 passing for 134 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 407 yards with eight touchdowns on 22 carries as Heritage defeated Frisco Centennial 76-58.

Frisco Lone Star defeated Frisco Independence 37-13 as senior quarterback Jason Shelley (Utah) went 13 of 30 passing for 174 yards with a touchdown while rushing for 35 yards with two touchdowns on 23 carries. 

Grapevine’s junior quarterback Alan Bowman went 17 of 26 passing for 198 yards with three touchdowns as Randy Jackson’s Mustangs defeated Birdville 45-14.

Wylie East upset Highland Park 20-9 with senior running back Eno Benjamin rushing for 186 yards with two touchdowns on 38 carries.

Mesquite Poteet’s Daiquain Jackson (Tulsa) rushed for 137 yards with a touchdown on 21 carries and had one pass reception for a 57 yard score as Poteet defeated West Mesquite 17-13.

Colleyville Heritage’s Cam Roane (San Diego State) went 7 of 17 passing for 169 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for 114 yards with a score on 13 carries as Heritage defeated Richland 53-36. Sophomore receiver Kam Brown had four pass receptions for 109 yards with three touchdowns in the win.

Ennis defeated Corsicana 52-21 with junior running back Tycen Thompson rushing for 251 yards with five touchdowns on 21 carries.

Texas High defeated Longview Pine Tree 38-3 with quarterback Cade Pearson (North Texas) going 16 of 20 passing for 212 yards with three touchdowns and receiver Quan Hampton (Texas State) had eight pass receptions for 154 yards with a touchdown in the win for the Tigers.

Magnolia defeated Brenham 28-21 with junior running back Anthony Johnson rushing for 166 yards with a touchdown on 13 carries. 

Port Neches-Groves sophomore quarterback Roschon Johnson went 4 of 9 passing for 63 yards and rushed for 246 yards with six touchdowns on 30 carries as the Indians defeated rival Nederland 42-21. 

CLASS 4A

Argyle’s junior running back Don Williams rushed for 123 yards on 16 carries with four touchdowns in a 55-30 win over Burkburnett.

Melissa’s freshman quarterback Brendon Lewis went 14 of 25 passing for 333 yards with four touchdown tosses in a 42-22 win over Community.

Buckeye senior receiver Lamarcus Morton (Oklahoma State) had four pass receptions for 126 yards with two touchdowns and sophomore Ke'Andre Street had two pass receptions for 72 yards with a touchdown as Gilmer defeated Pittsburg 51-35.

Cuero defeated Wharton 44-7 with sophomore running back Jordan Whittington rushing for 72 yards with a touchdown on eight carries and had four pass receptions for 84 yards with a touchdown.

Somerset defeated La Vernia 41-7 with junior quarterback Zadock Dinkelmann (LSU) going 9 of 18 passing for 85 yards with three touchdowns.

CLASS 2A

Refugio’s Jaylon Mascorro rushed for 224 yards with three touchdowns on 21 carries as the Bobcats shut out Shiner 35-0.

Bremond’s athletic senior quarterback Roshauud Paul (Texas A&M) passed for 173 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for 60 yards with two touchdowns as the Tigers defeated Dawson 47-13.
