Cole Ford named Sanger's head football coach

Sanger's Chuck Galbreath moves into AD only role

Sanger’s Chuck Galbreath has stepped down as the head football coach to concentrate on his duties as the District Athletic Director.

Galbreath has held the dual role for ten seasons with a record of 64-44 as the Indian’s head football coach and a career record of 80-61 as a head football coach.

Cole Ford was named the Indians’ new head football coach. Ford has been on the Indians’ staff since 2013 as the offensive coordinator.  The Indians advanced to the playoffs in all four seasons and finished 6-5 in 2016 losing in the Bi-District round to Brownwood.

This is Ford’s first head coach position and was at Irving MacArthur for five seasons before coming to Sanger. Ford comes from a coaching family being the son of current Lewisville ISD Athletic Director Tim Ford, whose coaching background included nearly 30 seasons with ten as the defensive coordinator at Colleyville Heritage.

Galbreath is a Sanger native that had short head coach stints in Ore City and Cooper prior to him returning home as the Indians’ mentor in 2007. Galbreath attended McMurry University where he played football and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1987.
