Former Texas high school football players dominate top ten of NFL draft

Texas high school football stood tall at the 2017 NFL draft as four of the first 10 players chosen were products of the Lone Star State’s high school football programs.

Three of the first six picks played high school football in the the DFW area. With two of these former cover boys for The Old Coach Friday Night Football Magazine, Jamal Adams, Lewisville Hebron and Coppell’s Solomon Thomas.

Patrick Mahomes, Whitehouse, was the only first-round selection from a Big 12 program.
