Blackmon to be a Buff

Tatum High WR Chance Blackmon made a lot of folks in Colorado happy on Sunday with his verbal commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes.

The 6'3 185 pound receiver has been a huge part of back to back state championship teams for the Eagles and he's looking for a three peat in 2007. "I know we have a target on our back, but I'm sure we will work hard to try and keep the tradition going," said the Tatum WR.

Blackmon who caught 49 passes for 850 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior was first team all district and he earned second team all-state honors as well. "I really liked Colorado, I think I have a chance to come in and play early and I liked the fact the coaches were very loyal to me. I still need to visit and make sure the campus is for me, but I think it will work out," replied Blackmon when asked about his decision.

Chance's older brother Carson is a defensive back for the University of Houston so he comes from an athletic family. Look for more of that athleticism to be on display in a couple of weeks as Chance and three of his teammates will run in the 4x400 relay at the state track meet being held at the University of Texas.
