Stepping Stones: Forrest Rucker

The little town of Hearne has themselves a big time talent at WR in 6'4 205 pound phenom Forrest Rucker.

Rucker who boasts a 4.56 forty time and squats 365 pounds was a key factor in the Eagles posting an 8-5 record and advancing all the way to the Class 2A Division 1 State Quarter-Finals.

Rucker earned first team all 25-2A honors along with second team all-state honors as a junior, as a sophomore in 2005 he was a second team all-district selection.

Besides starring on the football field, the Hearne prospect is also a member of the HHS basketball along with participating in the high jump for the Eagles track squad.

"My combination of size and speed are definitely my biggest strengths, this off-season I want to improve my speed and be a more precise route runner," said the WR from Hearne.

Rucker who already holds an offer from Baylor is getting strong interest from Arizona, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and North Texas.

Forrest who says he doesn't have any favorites plans on attending camps at Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and North Texas. Rucker who plans on majoring in Kinesiology says academics and location will play key roles in deciding where he lands.

Don't look for a decision from Rucker until after the 2007 season, after the long run in 2006 Forrest has one goal in mind. "I'd like to make a long playoff run, possibly to state. Personally I'd like to be a first team all-state player and improve my numbers overall."
