In what turned out to be an extremely pleasant day at Oak Grove Park on the shores of Lake Grapevine, the Colleyville Heritage SQT was played today and once again the host Panthers punched a ticket to the 7 on 7 State Tournament in College Station by getting past Lewisville Hebron in an absolute thriller 45-39 in Overtime. CHHS then in the title game jumped out early on Plano and held on for a 38-24 win, Plano advanced to the title game and punched a ticket to state with a thrilling 47-46 win of their own over Arlington Bowie. The two semi-final game were easily some of the best early 7 on 7 competition I've seen, that type of close play is usually reserved for July at the state tournament. Impressive performances were turned in by Colleyville Heritage QB Tyler Little and DB Eddie Foster along with Hebron WR Patrick Roberson and Plano's Rex Burkhead who scored two touchdowns and intercepted 2 passes in the Wildcats semi-final win over Arlington Bowie. Bowie's Roddy Maginot was solid all day as well. Here is the recap of pool play.

(Just file it away). LHHS rebounded to knock off a very athletic Irving MacArthur squad 29-20, and then Hebron was able to hold the Cardinals off in the final game 34-26.

Pool D Recap

The Plano Wildcats are correctly picked by Diggs in the preview did run the table in this pool, as their first win was the biggest knocking off Arl. Lamar 33-19. PSHS only held a 13-12 lead at the half but they really tightened the screws in the second half keeping the LHS offense in check. Bell would start a disappointing day off by getting hammered by Keller Central 41-26, then the Blue Raiders would turn around and get beat by Plano 27-19 in game number two. Lamar rebounded with a close 32-26 win over Keller Central. In the final set of games Lamar beat Bell 27-12 and Plano after jumping out to a big halftime lead and never let up in a 56-20 win over Keller Central.
