Is UH about to get another commit?

UH is starting to flex some serious recruiting muscle with some early commits and the word is they might get another one this Friday. TexasPrepInsider.com's Ahmard Vital has this recruiting update with one of the area's fastest athletes in Nick Saenz from Pearland.

Pearland DB Nick Saenz has gained the attention from several college coaches for his stellar game play this past season. With spring football and the 2006-2007 school year completed, Saenz is starting to see his recruiting process go very well.

He currently holds offers from Rice, Northwestern, Army, and the University of Houston . After all quite a few factors considered, it seems that UH is the top choice for Saenz. He plans to take an unofficial visit to the land of the Cougars, and if it feels right, he may give a verbal.

"If everything feels right on my visit, I may commit," Saenz said. "This Friday I will go to UH and see how I like the campus, coaches, and players. I want to see if it feels like home."

This decision comes despite interest from the likes of Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and LSU. Either way, his phone has not stopped ringing.

"I talked with the coaches at Virginia Tech and he asked me if I had committed," Saenz said. "He said he was ready to make me an offer."

The 6-0, 170-pound Saenz was one of Greater Houston's leading defensive backs ending last season with eight interceptions and 12 pass break ups. In early May, Saenz ran a 4.48 40 at the Houston combine at the Berry Center .
