Kennedale once again put together a solid season in 2006 posting an 8-4 record before falling in a shootout to Royse City in the area playoffs 56-42. The Wildcats lost a solid senior class but they still have plenty of talent to go around and once again they'll enter 2007 as the favorite in 12-3A.
The offense will be directed by QB Logan Barrett who was a first team all 12-3A, Barrett doesn't put up huge numbers in Kennedale's Wing-T offense but he's efficient and a solid leader. WB Kasib Williams was also a first team all-district performer rushing for 486 yards and 8 touchdowns, FB Raphael Brooks was also a key contributor rushing for 448 yards and 5 touchdowns. Rounding out the ground game is Aaron Wingfield posted 572 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. The offensive line is anchored by first team all-district performers Cody Ostrout and Joey Lucero.
The Kennedale defense will once again be speedy and they'll fly around. The defensive line is led by DE R.B. Neely who was a second team all-district and LB Stephen Sanders along with DB Raphael Brooks who was first team all 12-3A.
Overall, on paper Kennedale may wind up being a better team in 2007 but an area round matchup with Royse City once again. If Kennedale can get past Royse City then it could be a long playoff run for the Wildcats!
