Katy High School has had a long-standing history of producing great football teams. Well in 2007, things are no different. The Tigers finished last season with a 13-1 record and return 12 starters, eight if which are on offense.

Quarterback Bo Mitchell will be under center after having a strong junior season. He threw for nearly 1,500 yards and 13 touchdown passes. In the backfield, running back Aundre Dean returns after rushing for over 2,000 yards and 27 rushing touchdowns last season.

At the wide out position, receiver Terrance Avie will likely be one of Mitchell's top targets because of his ability to stretch out the field. Joey Fuda and Brian Rowe will be solid possession receivers.

Offensive lineman Eric Ball leads a line that has varsity experience and All-District stripes.

Defensively, the Tigers have four returnees, three of which who were first team All-District in 2006. Linebacker Brad Graham is one of Katy's top pass rushers. Graham finished last year with 95 tackles and seven sacks.

Katy returns one of Greater Houston's best secondaries. Defensive backs Terrance Fredrick, Trent Hunter, and Terrance Henry played key roles in the Tigers' pass defense that held opponents to under 100 yards passing per game. Collectively, these guys recorded a total of seven interceptions.

On special teams, punter Ryan Doerr will handle those duties. Doerr ended last season with a 40.2-yard punting average. Hunter will be the primary return man.
