FB Clements SS holds two, ready for more

FB Clements defensive back Kyle Hoke has led his team for the last two years in tackles. That level of play has earned him two Division I offers. With his senior season beginning, Hoke's aim is to continue to impress. TPI caught up with him to talk about his recruiting expectations.

After finishing last season as the Fort Bend (Sugarland) Clements' leading defender with 110 tackles and two interceptions, defensive back Kyle Hoke has received some looks from Division I universities. Hoke gave an update on what he thinks about his recent offers.

"Houston and Ball State are my only two offers," Hoke said. " I also have interest coming from Northwestern, Missouri, Arkansas, and Iowa State."

As far as UH is concerned, the 6-0, 195-pound Hoke had the opportunity to talk with coach Art Briles earlier in the year. He was impressed with Briles and the success of the Cougar program last season.

"I like Briles a lot, he came to my practice last spring," Hoke said. "When I met him he was great. I really like the fact that they (UH football team) were first in Conference USA."

He spoke briefly about Ball State, but affirmed that the school was still a consideration. But aside from this, Hoke continues to prepare for other schools that may approach him this upcoming season.

These offers may be great, but he is eager for more.

"As far as recruiting, I am definitely wide open," Hoke said. "I am going to do my best this season to see who else will offer me. I plan to make my decision at the end of my senior season."
