FB Kempner's Liscum gaining D1 interest

Fort Bend Kempner OL Ryan Liscum has been proactive throughout the rigorous recruiting process. The phone is ringing, the tapes are mailed, but still, the offer has yet to come. No worries, Liscum is confident that the Division I opportunity is on its way. TPI had a chance to chat with him on where everything stands at the moment.

After attending several football camps across the state of Texas, FB Kempner OL Ryan Liscum was hoping to have an offer as he heads into his senior season. Though there is not one to show to date, Liscum is on the radar with several colleges.

"I don't have an offer, but I am being recruited by quite a few Division I colleges," Liscum said. "North Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Houston, UTEP, New Mexico, Purdue, and TCU have all sent me things. I got some phone calls from Sam Houston, New Mexico, and North Texas."

Of these schools, Liscum said his favorites are: New Mexico, UTEP, and TCU. Liscum stands 6-3 and weighs in at about 290 pounds.

On New Mexico:
"I really like the program and I have family there," Liscum said.

"There are really a program that is on the rise," Liscum said. "I feel like they are the team of the future."

"What I like most about them is that they are a Christian-based university," Liscum said. "They are also coming up and they are a really good team."

But besides this, Liscum is most looking forward to this upcoming season. As he and Cougar squad prepare for Pearland this Friday, the anticipation builds up.

"I am excited about my senior season," Liscum said. "The coaches said we are one of the hardest working classes they have seen in years. We will be really tough once we start getting things to click."
