Katy DB plays big in win over Klein

Katy DB Trent Hunter flew under the radar for quite some time. But after a strong junior season, Division I colleges began checking out what Hunter was about. After pulling in a few offers and attending camps, Hunter committed to a Big 12 school this summer. In his first game against Klein, Hunter proved he can play with the best of them

In a 45-0 win over Klein Thursday night, Katy defensive back Trent Hunter was a force to be reckoned with. On the first play of the game, he returned a kickoff 100 yards for the Tigers first score.

Hunter, who is a Kansas State commit, set the tone for his Katy team early on. Later in the first half, he also blocked a field goal attempt. Defensively, Hunter played fearless and showed he can rumble in there with the big boys.

In particular formations, Hunter rolled up to an outside linebacker position and made several keys plays along the stretch, many of which stopped Klein's drives. He finished the game with about seven tackles, a touchdown, and over 150 return yards in his opening senior debut.
