B.F. Terry athlete has favorite in the SEC

Rosenberg Terry athlete Lekenwic Haynes is all over the recruiting radar after a strong junior season. Now holding four offers, Haynes has a favorite that stands out among the rest. TPI had a quick chat with Haynes to get the latest news in recruiting.

Rosenberg Terry defensive back/outside linebacker Lekenwic Haynes has the size and speed to gain the attention of several Division I programs. And he has. Haynes holds offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Purdue, and Missouri. He also said he has been receiving some interest from Miami.

But of all the schools listed, the SEC school is his favorite at the moment.

"I would have to say Arkansas is my favorite school," Haynes said. "I have a friend who goes up there (perhaps Adrian Davis) and he said the environment is real nice."

Last season the 6-4, 198-pound DB/OLB recorded 65 tackles, 6 interceptions, and 10 pass break-ups. As he begins his senior season this Friday against Friendswood, he is looking forward to a few phone calls.

"Coach (Chris) Vaughn (Arkansas) and coach (Brian) Rock (Purdue) said they will probably call me this Wednesday," Haynes said. "They said they will call me and get me pumped up for Friday's game."
